Grossman and Ryerson Jazz Performance Scholarship


Robert & Susan Grossman and Ali Ryerson established this scholarship in 2020 to provide annual scholarships to a Bachelor of Music in Performance, Jazz Emphasis in the YSU Jazz Studies program in the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. The purpose of this endowment is to perpetuate the legacy of the YSU Jazz Studies Program and pay tribute to their parents, brother and sister, Rose Marie (Ryerson) Grossman and Art Ryerson in appreciation for their lifelong support of our musical pursuits. Ali Ryerson is an internationally renowned Jazz Flutist, recording artist, educator, and composer. Robert and Susan Grossman have performed and taught music in central Ohio for close to fifty years. An eligible student(s) for this scholarship must be a music major enrolled in the Dana School of Music pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Performance, Jazz emphasis with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
