For just about every interest, a student organization is available on the campus of YSU to meet your needs. If you do not find an organization listed that you would like to join, then start one yourself when you come to campus.

All student organizations appearing on the YSU Web site are registered with the University. All groups register annually. If you are creating a new student organization and wish to be recognized by the University and have access to University resources, you must complete the registration process.

Assistance with this process is available through the Office of Student Life, Kilcawley Center, 330-941-2979 or from the Student Programming staff in the office of Campus Recreation and Student Programming, Kilcawley Center, 330-941-3580.

Registration of a student organization involves the following steps:

• Complete a Student Organization Registration Form available from Student Life or Student Programming.
  • This form requires the names and Banner ID's of the organization's officers; number of active members; and name(s) and signature of your advisor(s).
  • All officers shall be currently enrolled at YSU, in good academic standing and no more than two officers may be registered for less than eight hours during fall and spring semesters.
  • Organizations shall have at least one advisor who is currently a full time faculty or staff member. Part time faculty may serve as an advisor with permission of the Office of Student Life.
• Return the completed form and a copy of the organization's current constitution to the Office of Student Life.
• Student Life will verify the information and contact both the organization's President and advisor to confirm their status.

If you need to update your student organization, fraternity, sorority, interfraternity council or order directory information, please complete and submit the Student Organizations UpdateForm.

If you are a registered student organization, fraternity, or sorority and interested in requesting space on www.ysu.edu for your website, please complete the online request form. Questions about requesting space can be addressed by the University Web Site Manager.
