Programs and Services 

Leadership Forum:  15 Block Club Leaders participate in bi-bimonthly training sessions that are designed to increase their capacity to serve in leadership roles of their respective organizations.  Collaborative fundraising and all other program initiatives are implemented by the participants.

Landscaping:  The North Side Citizen’s Coalition (NSCC) through support of the John Wean Foundation has funds to support a landscaping initiative that is implemented by block clubs leaders in the Leadership Forum. Additionally these resources are targeted in communities where rehabilitation and new home construction activities are planned. Residents pay 25% of the landscaping costs NSCC pays 75%

Yard Lamppost Program:  Residents and members of Block Clubs and those homes near NSCC development activities can receive yard lighting. Participating residents pay 25% of the cost (about $35.00)  

Financial literacy:    NSCC believes financial literacy is a necessary initiative that can impact the lives of residents with low and/or limited income. By providing free tax preparation, facilitating the development of Individual Development Accounts, (IDA), and collaboration with “Buy Into Youngstown a Home buyer training program, NSCC supports the opportunity for everyone to live in safe and affordable housing.

Additional Goals include:  Planning and implementing streetscapes that will invite people to walk in the neighborhood and encourage economic development. Assisting entrepreneurs with raising capitol and developing business plans.
