Bruce E. & Carol J. Sherman Family Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2018 by Bruce and Carol Sherman, both graduates of Youngstown State University, life members of the Alumni Society and volunteers with Pete's Pride. Bruce earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1970 from The Williamson College of Business Administration and was honored in 2002 with the WCBA Outstanding Volunteer Award. Carol earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1970 and was honored with the Beeghly College of Education Volunteer Service Award in 2007. They have dedicated their time and talents to support many non-profit organizations throughout the area. They believe a minor in Nonprofit Leadership is a great preparation for a career in the non-profit world and also a valuable tool to develop educated and skilled volunteers to serve on area non-profit Boards. An eligible student for this scholarship must be attending full-time pursuing a minor and/or certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Studies, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Completed FAFSA is required, need is a consideration.
