Ryan Mirkin Memorial Scholarship in Gerontology
This scholarship was established in 2010 in memory of Ryan Lee Mirkin, a Youngstown resident, a 2005 Liberty High School graduate and a 2009 Ohio University graduate in healthcare administration and long-term care. Ryan had a care and concern for the elderly, a love of education, and an interest in the Youngstown community. This scholarship is for sophomores, juniors or seniors in class standing who are majoring in Gerontology or graduate students enrolled in the Masters in Gerontology program. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. This scholarship is open to Domestic and International students. Domestic students must complete the FAFSA. International students must complete the need verification process at the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. A written essay is also required, see application for details.
