Dr. Rebecca Sheridan-Shevchenko and Dr. James Shevchenko Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2023 by James Shevchenko to honor his late wife, Rebecca. James and Rebecca hold seven degrees from Youngstown State University. Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1976, a Master of Science in Education in 1992, a Master of Science in Education Administration in 1994, and a Doctor of Education in 2005. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1976, a Master of Science degree in Education Administration in 1997, and a Doctor of Education in 2005. Both spent their teaching careers at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, formerly known as the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School. James created this scholarship to assist students financially in attaining their college degree at Youngstown State University. This scholarship is for undergraduate student(s) enrolled full- or part-time, with a minimum 2.75 GPA and a demonstrated financial need through the completion of the FAFSA.
