Earl J. Ducay Scholarship
The Earl J. Ducay Scholarship was established in memory of Earl Ducay by his nephew Scott Schulick in 2023. Earl was a lifelong resident of Youngstown, OH and enjoyed a career spanning over 44 years at The Dearing Compressor & Pump Co. in Youngstown, retiring as Service Manager. He treasured spending time with his family and friends, and volunteered for many years with the Poland Community Baseball Association and was very active in his church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica. Earl was a humble and simple man who practiced his faith and good works quietly, never seeking recognition and giving from his heart. This scholarship is open to undergraduate students, but preference to business or engineering majors. 1st preference will be given to the employees, children, or grandchildren of The Dearing Compressor & Pump Co. These students can be from any high school, but preference will be given to graduates of Cardinal Mooney High School or Poland Seminary High Scholarship. If there are no eligible applicants connected to The Dearing Compressor & Pump Co., then the 2nd preference will be undergraduates from Cardinal Mooney or Poland Seminary High School.
