District Three Nurses Association Scholarship – Over a Century of Caring

This scholarship was established in 2023 as an endowment by the District Three Nurses Association, composed of RN members from Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties, served the Valley from 1918-2023 for the purpose of advancing the professional nursing practice in service of quality healthcare for local citizens. Fostering this purpose, it provided: advanced educational opportunities to ensure high standards of professional nursing practice, monies for members’ participatory action in local, state, and national healthcare issues, loans and scholarships to assist current and future nurses with educational expenses, worked with local healthcare providers to enact economic and general welfare benefits for nurses, health assessments, advice, and referrals for troubled youths at the Daybreak Care facility for 35 years, and blood pressure screenings at the Canfield Fair for over six decades.

These are only a few of the many activities these members have been doing in their 105 years of service within their profession and communities. In continuation of this legacy, members have established this scholarship to assist future nurses with their education. We hope recipients continue our legacy by being active professionally and in-service to their communities in the future.
