Felicia and Duane Beatty Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2023. Felicia was an Army brat whose father served 20 years in the United States Army, completing two tours in Vietnam, and attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. She worked in financial institutions all her life until passing away in 2015. Duane received his degree in accounting from YSU in 1971 along with his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. As an Infantry Officer, his Officer Basic Course was at Fort Benning (now Fort Moore) Georgia. Duane resigned his commission after serving eight years in the Reserves, attaining the rank of Captain. This scholarship is for a 3rd or 4th year Advanced Course Cadet under contract to serve as an officer in any branch of the US Military with a minimum 2.5 GPA enrolled full-time.
