Drs. Sheridan-Shevchenko Scholarship


This scholarship was established in 2016 by James and Rebecca Shevchenko, who together hold seven degrees from Youngstown State University. Both spent their teaching careers at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, formerly known as the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School. James and Rebecca created this scholarship to assist vocational education students, to whom they dedicated their careers, in the pursuit of a college education at their alma mater.

This scholarship is for a graduate of the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center who is or will be attending YSU as an undergraduate student. An eligible student must be recommended for this scholarship by a MCCTC guidance counselor. Students can be enrolled at YSU full or part-time, with a minimum 2.0 GPA and a completed FAFSA. The FAFSA must show that the student has financial need. The student must be a resident of Ohio. Preference will be given to a student pursuing an associate degree.
