District Three Nurses - Make a Difference Scholarship
This scholarship was established at the Youngstown State University Foundation in 2023 by the District Three Nurses Association. Prior to this, the District Three Nurses Association had annually awarded this scholarship for over thirty-five years through their own scholarship committee. District Three Nurses Association, which serves Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana counties, believes nurses “make a difference.” To support this belief, the association has established an endowment to fund a scholarship to assist nurses in their educational pursuits. Education is the foundation of nursing’s professional growth, and it is the association’s hope the scholarship monies will further the nurse’s education enabling another nurse to “make a difference”. If you are a recipient of this scholarship award (from many caring nurses in the community) PLEASE consider PAYING IT FORWARD, in the future. This scholarship is for an RN enrolled in the RN-BSN program. Student(s) must also be a resident of Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana County, attending full or part-time with a 2.75 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to a student who was a member of District Three Nurses Association or a family descendant. Student(s) must highlight their leadership activities, community service involvement and future career plans in the field of nursing on the online application.
