Carl Swabek and Juliana Carano Swabek Scholarship
This endowment was established in 2022 by Carl Swabek and Juliana Carano Swabek, for YSU students in the STEM college. Carl and Juliana were both 1980 graduates of YSU. Carl received a BE in Industrial Engineering, and Juliana earned an Associates in Applied Business. They were married in 1981. Upon graduation, Carl joined General Electric. He worked for GE for 35 years, primarily with the Aviation Group, headquartered in Cincinnati. Carl held various managerial and leadership roles over his GE career. YSU has always been a special place for them, and launched their lives together. An eligible student for this scholarship is enrolled full-time, pursuing an undergrad degree in the College of STEM. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and must also be a U.S. citizen from either Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana counties in Ohio.
