Mamie Meshel Coutris Scholarship in Psychology
This scholarship was established in 2014 by Senator Harry Meshel to pay tribute to his sister, Mamie Meshel Coutris. Mamie had unyielding empathy when dealing with women, many of whom worked in her employ or served with her in social organizations. It is because of her special abilities to empathize with women that Senator Meshel provided this scholarship in her honor. This scholarship is for a female student majoring in psychology enrolled full time with a minimum 2.7 GPA and a completed FAFSA. First preference will be given to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana County (OH), but residents from other areas will be considered if the first preference cannot be met.
