Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 200 Chief John J. Gocala, Sr. Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2022 by the Youngstown State Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 200 in honor of John J. Gocala, Sr. "Jack" Gocala was a Youngstown City Police Officer rising the rank of Lieutenant before becoming Chief of Youngstown State University Police where he served the university community with distinction for many years. He is also a long-time member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 200 and an avid supporter of education in law enforcement field.
Applicants must be enrolled full-time, majoring in Criminal Justice or enrolled in the Peace Officer Training Academy, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
