COL Charles M. Andrean Scholarship in Economics
Colonel Charles M. Andrean, U.S. Army (Retired) established this scholarship in 2022. Col. Andrean began his 30-year career in the US Army Transportation Corps upon graduation from Youngstown State University where he was an active member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He received his degree in economics and was commissioned in 1962, and served until his retirement in 1992. His significant tours of duty were as the Commander of Army Ports in Vietnam, Korea, and Bayonne, NJ. He served as the Deputy Post Commander at West Point, and served as the Army Project Manager of the C-17 Airlifter. Overseas, his assignments included Germany, two tours in Vietnam, and two tours in Korea. After retiring from the Army, he became the Facility Director of the Texas Rehabilitation Commission before completing his working career as the Director of Facilities and Security at ConAgra Foods. Later, Col. Andrean taught at the University of California-Riverside. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be undergraduates, enrolled full-time, with a 2.5 GPA and majoring in economics, or business economics.
