Dr. Rebecca Shevchenko Scholarship in Math Education
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Rebecca Shevchenko by her husband, Dr. James Shevchenko in 2021. Rebecca was a math teacher at the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School for 30 years. After graduating from Poland High School, she went on to graduate from Youngstown State University with a mathematics degree, and later received two master's degrees and a Doctor of Education from YSU as well. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be an undergraduate female, enrolled in an education program with at least a 2.7 GPA. Preference will be given to applicants majoring in Integrated Math Education.
