Stringer Psychology Scholarship
This psychology scholarship was established by Dr. Sharon Stringer and Dr. Ron Shaklee. Dr. Stringer, Professor of Psychology, taught courses in human development, conducted research, and mentored students for over thirty years at YSU. Dr. Stringer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgetown University, and then went on to earn her Master's and Ph.D in Applied Developmental Psychology at the University of Miami. In addition to her work at YSU, Dr. Stringer worked extensively on intervention projects with infants, children, teenagers, and parents in Maryland, Florida, and New Orleans. Her research focuses on reducing stigma and building resilience.
