Virginia and Charles Toperzer Memorial Scholarship

With the encouragement and financial support of my parents, I received a Bachelor of Science degree from YSU in 1968. Following my service with the United States Army I was able to use the GI Bill to help finance both my masters and doctoral degrees. Thus, I am very aware of the significance that funding support can play in attaining a college degree. Additionally, my mother very much wanted to receive a degree in education but due to family obligations was unable to complete the courses needed to meet her goal. I believe my parents would have been honored to be recognized by this scholarship, which was established to provide financial assistance to a female student enrolled in a Teacher Education Program, attending full or part-time with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
