Crumpler-Ray Scholarship for Law & Medicine


This scholarship was established by Dr. Meredith and Mr. David Workman in 2020. Recognizing that women of color are underrepresented in the fields of law and medicine, Dr. and Mr. Workman created this endowment to help African American women pursue a pre-med or pre-law degree. The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Rebecca Crumpler and Charlotte Ray, the first African American female physician and attorney in the United States.

An eligible student for this scholarship must be an African American female enrolled full-time at the undergraduate level. Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, with first preference to a student(s) in a Pre-Medical or Pre-Law track. Second preference will be to a student(s) enrolled in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
