Dr. Barbara Brothers Scholarship in Education
This scholarship was established in 2020 by Dr. Barbara Brothers. Dr. Brothers served as a professor, Chair of the Department of English, and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences during her distinguished career at Youngstown State University. Dr. Brothers' devotion to education and to encouraging excellence in others is unparalleled. Dr. Brothers created this scholarship to inspire high school graduates from the Youngstown City School District. Her expectations are that one day, these students would return to the Youngstown City School District and inspire the next generation of educators. This scholarship is for an African American undergraduate student who is majoring in Education with a minimum 2.7 GPA. This student(s) must be a graduate of a Youngstown City Public School.
