Anthony J. Saadey Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2020 by Dr. John Jakubek, to honor the memory of his uncle, Anthony J. Saadey. Mr. Saadey was the youngest of nine children and grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. He was a 1971 graduate of Youngstown State University. Throughout the years, gatherings with family and friends were common occurrences with Anthony who was usually in charge of the menu during these festivities. In 1982, he became co-founder of Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center in Boardman, Ohio. It became the site of numerous special occasions in the Mahoning Valley for many decades. This scholarship was created with the intent to benefit YSU students majoring in Hospitality Management. An eligible student(s) for this scholarship must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time, majoring in Hospitality Management. Student(s) must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a completed FAFSA. Student(s) must demonstrate financial need.
