Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association Scholarship

This scholarship was established on September 24, 2018 by the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association (YGDNA) who has represented Youngstown RNs since 1966 and has continued to advance professional nursing in Ohio. As a union representing Registered Nurses, YGDNA was established to promote and preserve improvements in employment conditions and standards of professional practice. The association has also supported the overall community in which it operates through volunteering and organizing public health programs and events. Because of the closing of Northside Hospital in September 2018, this scholarship was created to honor all the hard work of its past members and to foster the preparation of future nurses. An eligible student(s) for this scholarship must be majoring in Nursing with a 2.75 GPA or higher. First preference will be given to a member of YGDNA or whose parent or grandparent was a member. Second preference will be given to a member of District Three of the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA). Third preference to a member of ONA.
