David and Mary Owen Family Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2019 by David and Mary Owen. David was born and raised on the south side of Youngstown, graduating from South High School. David is a 1963 graduate of Youngstown State University, where he earned his BSBA. David eventually started his own company, Owen & Associates in 1968. His company was a pioneer in the Graphic Design and Typesetting industry. David sold Owen & Associates to his workers in 1993. After a brief retirement, David was one of the founders of Butler Wick Trust in 1994. He retired from there as Senior Vice President in 2004. David and his wife, Mary, a retired school teacher have been married since 1961. They met while standing in line for registration at DePauw University. This scholarship is for an undergraduate student, sophomore class standing or higher, enrolled in the College of STEM or the Beeghly College of Education. Preference to a student from the Youngstown City school district. Completed FAFSA is required, financial need must be demonstrated.
