Officer Justin A. Leo 324 Memorial Scholarship in Education
This scholarship was established in 2018 by David and Patricia Leo, along with family and friends of Girard Police Officer, Justin A. Leo. Justin was a 2017 graduate of Youngstown State University and a 2009 graduate of the YSU Police Academy. He was a member of the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department, the Vienna Police Department and the city of Girard Police Department. Justin was a 2004 graduate of Girard High School and a member of their state champion cross country team in 2000. Officer Leo enjoyed golfing with his Dad, serving as an umpire for the Girard baseball leagues and coaching youth basketball. This scholarship will serve as a lasting legacy to honor Justin's dedication to duty and his selfless nature in serving others. An eligible student(s) for this scholarship must be enrolled in the Beeghly College of Education with a minimum 2.0 GPA and who demonstrates community service. Preference given to a graduate of Girard High School.
