The 2008-2009 Institutional Aid Application is a
listing of miscellaneous scholarships provided through the
generosity of the YSU Foundation and other private donors.
Students should complete the IAA every year by the February
15 priority deadline. In addition to the criteria
listed, most of these scholarships are awarded to incoming
first-year students with an ACT score of 20 or higher or to
current YSU students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
For scholarships that require demonstration of financial need, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid
must be completed. Complete the FAFSA online before the
February 15 deadline date to receive consideration for
all need-based scholarships. Students must reapply for
financial aid and miscellaneous scholarships each year by
February 15.
Youngstown State's Scholarships for Excellence for
freshmen, with the exception of the University Scholar
Award, are automatically awarded as a result of applying for
admission to Youngstown State.
