You must submit the YSU Undergraduate Admission Application (with transcripts) by February 15 to be considered for scholarships through
the Scholarship for Excellence Program at Youngstown State University. With the exception of the University Scholars Application,
there are no other application forms needed for YSU's Scholarships for Excellence.

Red and White Scholarships: |
The Red and White Scholarships recognize academic achievement of new high school graduates. This
scholarship is awarded to beginning first-year students who have been admitted to the University.
Criteria: Graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA with an ACT score of at least 22 or combined Math &
Verbal SAT score of 1030.
Value: $1,500 academic-year award. If renewed for the full four years of study, the value is $6,000.
Renewal: This scholarship will be automatically renewed each year up to a maximum of four years if the
recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and completes a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. Students must
maintain a full-time YSU enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per term.
Application: To be considered for this award, an Admissions Application must be submitted by February 15.

Deans' Scholarships: |
The Deans' Scholarships recognize academic achievement and are awarded to beginning first-year
students who have been admitted to the University.
Criteria: Rank in the upper 15 percent of the high school graduating class with an ACT score of at least 25
or combined Math & Verbal SAT score of 1140.
Value: $2,000 academic-year award. If renewed for the full four years of study, the value is $8,000.
Renewal: This scholarship will be automatically renewed each year up to a maximum of four years if the recipient
maintains a 3.5 cumulative GPA and completes a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. Students must maintain a full-time YSU
enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per term.
Application: To be considered for this award, an Admissions Application must be submitted by February 15.

President's Scholarships: |
The President's Scholarships recognize outstanding academic ability and accomplishment.
These scholarships are awarded to beginning first-year students who have been admitted to the University.
Criteria: Rank in the upper 10 percent of the high school graduating class with an ACT score of at least
27 or combined Math & Verbal SAT score of 1220.
Value: $2,500 academic-year award. If renewed for the full four years of study, the value is $10,000.
Renewal: This scholarship will be automatically renewed each year up to a maximum of four years if the
recipient maintains a 3.5 cumulative GPA and completes a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. Students must
maintain a full-time YSU enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per term.
Application: To be considered for this award, an Admissions Application must be submitted by February 15.

Trustees' Scholarships: |
The Trustees' Scholarships recognize the academic achievement of high school valedictorians. The scholarships are awarded to
beginning first-year students who have been admitted to the University.
Criteria: Graduate as valedictorian of the high school graduating class.
Value: $4,500 academic-year award. If renewed for the full four years of study, the value is $18,000.
Renewal: This scholarship will be automatically renewed each year up to a maximum of four years if the recipient
maintains a 3.5 cumulative GPA and completes a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. Students must maintain a full-time YSU
enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per term.
Application: To be considered for this award, an Admissions Application must be submitted by February 15.
