The following types of aid are available to eligible Ohio
residents. The state of Ohio receives the results from a
student's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from
the Department of Education. The state then determines
eligibility for Ohio grants and forwards this information to
Youngstown State University.
Ohio State GrantsThese programs are awarded by the State of Ohio to full-time
undergraduate students, who are residents of Ohio, pursuing a
first bachelor's degree or associate degree.
Part-time Ohio Grants are awarded to students
enrolled less than full-time who otherwise would have been
eligible for a full-time Ohio Grant (subject to
availability of funds). You must file
the FAFSA by October 1 of each year to be considered for an Ohio
grant. Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation AwardsThis program, funded by the Bureau of Vocational
Rehabilitation (BVR) in Ohio, provides grants for tuition,
fees, and books for residents with disabilities.
Eligibility is determined by the state. For more

click here. Ohio War Orphans Grants/ScholarshipsChildren of disabled or deceased U.S. Armed Forces veterans are
assisted by this program. There is a needs test and the
student must be between 16 and 20 upon application for a grant.
The grant is for tuition and fees. For more information on

who are full-time undergraduates. Apply through the National
